Should you feel a burden on your family? I have an illness and lately I have been in hospital since coming home I havnt been able to do a lot. I feel like a burden even though my family are all great and try and help out as much as possible.

Your family loves you...unconditional love...which means good times and bad. They do not see you as a burden; they see you as someone they love and want to take care of. Please don't worry...spend that energy on getting better so you can show them how much love and appreciation you feel. You can show them that by being healthy once again! Take care! (I'm an R.N.)

Thank you for your support. I have a Motor Neropathy so I have a lot of problems. And I suppose I always will. I have never let it get me down until lately since it has been getting slowly worse. I know my family love me I just dont want to cause them a lot of problems

You won't cause them any problems and, given your situation, it is normal to go through some "down" times. Just don't let the down times become an all the time thing. That would not be good for your family or you. I really think you should see a psychologist or psychiatrist because having someone to vent to can make all the difference in the world. Take care!

You should not feel that ur burdento your family. It is your family if they will not take care of you then sho will take care. Your lucky to have such a wonderful family. Get well sooooon and back to work.

My Grandmother felt the same way when she came out of hospital due to a water infection that had taken it’s toll on her. None of us would ever think of her as a burden, or even be annoyed that she needed a lot of help right after coming out after hospital. Sometime you just need to accept we want to help the one’s we love!
