I have a german shepard that is 5 yrs old and i cant stop the shedding, the dog sheds all year around and i live in florida. The other problem is the dogs ears, he gets these infections in his ears and it just keeps coming back, and when i try to put the ear drops in his ears he gets very aggressive and has even bit me before, i dont know what to do about either problem and my vet has no answers either. HELP

It's probably the food. What are you feeding your dog?
I suspect it's a bad case of yeast infection which causes the dog to itch on the skin and develop a brownish residue in the ear which smells badly.

Your right the vet says it is a yeast infection and that he is getting it because his ears stick up and there catching all this stuff. I feed him pedigree, no one has ever said that could be the problem.

i also have one which is 7 years old, but he does not have this kind of problem, he sheds but not much and monthly treatment gets him out of infections, but you can put the mask on his mouth so that he cant bite you and give him his drops

I have tryed the mask before and he gets it off every time, he is quite aggressive when it comes to his ears and i'm so little that i usually end up backing off. I have even tryed meds from the vet to calm him down and they dont work.

Brush brush brush your dog. Keep a fur mitt handy and when he comes for a pat slip the mitt on and brush some more. Shedding happens you can't stop it just control it.
As for the ears I would try a new vet. Honestly.
To get him to take drops in his ears get him to associate it (in steps) with treats. Sitting first, approaching the ear, rubbing the ear outside, rubbing it inside (gently of course) rubbing it with the bottle and finally dropping some drops in.
It can take a while but sheperds are smart and he'll learn that doing it this way won't hurt plus he'l lget a reward for being a good boy.
