Do you agree that truth is often stranger than fiction. I have started many discussions on here most relating to my life ,or i have responded to discussions using my own experiences, but looking back i think gosh so many things have happened to me and i have experienced so much in my life i wonder if sometimes people think i am making half of it up just to start a discussion or respond. I can honestly say that everything i discuss on here had happened to me ,so yes i do believe that truth is stranger than fiction,i do not have that good an imagination to make up all the things that i have either started discussions about or responded to . DO you agree that truth is stranger than fiction?

Yes, I do agree that truth is often far stranger than fiction. I have had several weird or interesting experiences throughout my own life and I believe that is true for anyone. Also there are so many people here from all over the world, with different cultures, lifestyles and experiences that it would be expected that many of us had have differing experiences in life. I think that is one of the reasons I am really enjoying the time I spend here.

Ya sometimes, you can say truth is stranger than fiction. There are many incidents in my life that let me believe this. But a second thought which put me in dilemma that whether truth is truth or just a perception of truth.

Yes it is a fact that truth is stranger than fiction. I am like you rosebug in that I relate things that have actually happened during my lifetime. Yet generally I would not even think about many of the things until one day I read a discussion that someone started and back come the memories. Some memories are good, some bad, some strange, some funny and others are just plain "where is the nearest hole I can jump into" types.
I think that perhaps it has something to do with our age, having reared children, been active in the community, worked etc that has given us all this experience. If only we could bottle it, or find a way to put some of it into those young heads.
This is a great discussion rosebug and thanks for starting it. A BIG positive (+) for you. :)

Thanks ossie, yes we have not spent our lives sitting around feeling sorry for ourselves we have been out and lived and experienced life and living .This has caused me many moments as you said funny frightening ,good, bad embarrassing, but in the end it we have learnt and grown and can sit back and remember. I know so many people that even at our age have lived their lives in close boxes, never moved from the small town they were born in ,never travelled further than the next town and had the same job and friends all their lives how very sad would that be.These are the people that think our live experiences are exaggerated or that you are eccentric to a certain degree. I think we have lived our lives to the fullest

Whoa, I cannot hit the nail much better on the head.
I dont usually look back on the things that have happened in my life but after I read this thread I did reflect back on my life and well, there are some happy moments, some sad and some are such that I go "Could that really have happened, Is it really possible".
Indeed some things (that have happened in my life) are definitely stranger than fiction can ever be!!

I is only when you look back on all the things that have happened in your life the put them all together that you think gosh so much has happened in my life .If you try to tell people all the things that have happened to you you start to think well that sounds a bit far fetched ,then you tell them this happened and that happened and you start to feel unselfconscious and think they will never believe all those things happened to me or you think maybe they will think am exaggerating so you stop sharing all your experiences so people won't think you are a smart a***.

YES!!!!!! i totally agree with you.
it`s a topic my boyfriend and i always discuss.
sometimes life is so bizarre, too bizarre for words!
sometimes when relating a story to my boyfriend, he stops me by saying `woah i`m so totally lost...you mean WHAT happened!?`because it`s so unbelievable! :) i don`t just mean things that happen to me...they happen to everyone. really WEIRD things, and i think the best movie would be one based on REAL life. maybe that`s why reality shows became so popular so fast lol

Yes sometimes i do think truth can reveal dark sides in someone who are close to us or living among us.It is difficult for us to write a story about them as they cannot be predicable.as in fiction we know why they act in such a way.but in real life we cannot get to link the case.As human mind is difficult to be understanded fully.
As experience only can make we think like u discussed.i think you have learned by experience a lot in short span of life.it is good that yo are not shy to speak about the experiences good or bad things in ur life.its nice to share your experiences.it makes alot more reliefin you i think.

Yes, truth indeed is stranger than fiction. I also want to add that all discussions presupposes a topic, it can be your own true to life experiences or any other topic for that matter. I don't know of any Mylot rule that prevents anyone from posting hypothetical cases to generate a discussion.

I agree and I have never thought that you are making things up rosebug. I trust you. Anyway, life is so strange that sometimes, its difficult to believe the happenings and when you try to explain such happenings to a stranger, you yourself feel that "can this be true". Especially when we are from all parts of the world, its really ficticious.

i do believe that truth is stranger than fiction.Truth is like a bitter pill that some people cant take down their guts. Its unbelievable thus its better to keep mum about it.product of mind?wow...then to those who enjoy telling the truth they might be in some desk now or something since they will be adored as great writers for their rich imaginations.Alot of things happened in my life sometimes i could even relate tot hose cheesy "tele novelas" shown in the boob tube. Some people wont believe my story and probabluy would laugh their heads of but hey!ikts the truth.Alas, truth is stranger than fiction.
