Here is a fact you all will be heartened to know.....does anybody know why hindu girls wear heavy ornaments during marriage and at the end of the marriage the groom gives vermillon(sindur) on the head of the bride well i recently came to know many years back maay be a couple of thousand years or more marriage off hindus used to be brutal act...yes the bride wud be tied by chains and at the end of the marriage the groom used to hit the head of the bride and the bloodused to flow out....nowadays the brutality is one but the heavy ornaments replace the heavy chains and vermillon(sindur) replace blood
