Really interesting topic. I think most of the people there are chatting only to pass time and very less people who have quality discussions. Most of the people are just mocking each other in these chat rooms. I never find any good chat topics or quality discussions. I think the manage ment of these chat rooms shoudl be made more strictly.

people say that all this teleconferencing and chatting is reducing the social interaction element in life.
I think as long as chatting is done as a aid rather than to takeover all your communication it is not too bad.
If you are engaging in it all the time at the expense of actual social interaction then it may be is harmful.

Chatting is waste of time and money. The only advantage is that you can communicate with your own friends and relatives who are faraway effectively. Instead it is better to spend time on discussions and forums and enhance the knowledge. Have you seen the Yahoo Chat Rooms, it stinks a lot. People have stopped chatting regularly like before.
