We used to have one when I was younger. He was a nice dog but we trained him to be. But then someone broke the lock outside and stole him. We were so sad.

That's too bad. Did you ever get another one? My 1-month old is exhibiting some signs of aggression. She is very domineering and bossy. Everytime I scold her for biting things inside the house, she will retaliate by snapping at me or growling - and to think she is still very tiny (about 5 inches long and 4 inches high). I find it cute now but I fear that when she grows up and is taller and stronger than I am, she might go berserk. Any tips?

how do you scold her ? She needs to go to a puppy class ,it sounds like she is just a domanate dog trhey require being taught your the alpha dog but by using a dogs ways .I actualy prefer the kinder ways then the dog trainer ceaser uses alot of pet people love him but not all people that train dogs love him so much .Holding a pup gently on it back untill it stops moving is a show of domanance thats good for young pups .Dont do this harshly and worse of all don't hit it .If it bites you grasp it's mussle firmly but not harshly ,to punish pups a good shake of the neck is always good but not too hard this is how mother dogs punish them . Start teaching it to do things like sit I had my german shepherd in puppy class at 12 weeks of age working breeds need obedence work early .

Thanks for the tip. I hold her muzzle everytime she growls but she still keeps on doing it afterwards. She is not afraid of me at all! A 1-month old, tiny, little doberman pup growling??? I find it hilariously cute but I can't imagine how I would be able to handle her tantrums when she's all grown up, taller and stronger than me.

Misunderstood yet at the sametime their job is be a watch dog, that's what they were breed for.
My aunt had a Doberman and she was the sweetest dog I've ever known. She never attacked anyone or hurt anyone.
I try not to judge a dog on it's breed, but by it's behavior.

Most are very misunderstood. Most are nothing but big babies for their family and friends. They are intimadating for the ones that do not know them or up to no good. They should be obediance trained either by yourself if you have the knowledge or taking to classes for both of you to learn and bond.
