There have only ever been 2 true tellings of the book Dracula, which is actually about the Roman Catholic church's habit of maligning any Christian whose beliefs differ from theirs, and persecuting them, often eradicating them by violent force (the Albigensian Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, persecution of Gypsies etc). Hence, Van Helsings final words, 'We have all become Gods madmen!'.
The first, and probably still the spookiest is the old silent classic, Nosferatu starring Max Shreck. The second was 'Bram Stoker's Dracula' filmed in the late 1980s.
Personally, I love Nosferatu.

I have a couple of pictures of Max Shrechts portrayal of Nosferatu on my profile page, now, if you're interested in seeing the very scary man!
