Are We In Control of Media?

I hav observed things which make me feel that the most of western part is controlled by their Media. I am not just sayin this. For past few years the things happening in the eastern and middle east side has shown that the things showed by the media which is BBC, CNN influence the western people to think against the people of west mostly the Muslim Followers. After 9/11 Islam followers has faced so much trouble over there that it just shows the media is playin with us. Islam and terrorism has been on highlights for past few years. The 9/11 facts shown in the vedio 9/11 farhenheit can't be ignored. Some Facts are also given in the 2nd edition. I just like to ask all you people do you trust ur govt. media so blindly that u can trust on whtever they say? In most religion is has been said to witness the information yourself in order to seek the truth. What would u believe? and if you from western country would like to know your comments on Middle East Situation.
