i love the love-hate relationship between mr. darcy and elizabeth bennett. i admire lizzie because she is headstrong and doesn't give into society's pressure for her to find a husband. i've read it at least thrice because i keep coming back to their conversations in the book.

i read this classic when i was in my first year degree.. and after going through what all people wrote, i started recollecting the story and wow its a fantastic story especially the character of Mr. Darcy,, all gentleman like.. the best part of the story is when he does send his beloved a letter explaining in detail his life and how a villain her sisters hubby is.. its an awesome novel..

I agree. I've read the Chinese version for several times, and of course the movie, but so such a big fun for this movie, not good as the book. I've not read the English version yet, but I am going to, hehe

Where to start...well, I think the character of Lizzie is so compelling for women. I'm sure we all look for that little bit of Lizzie within us. She has her faults, but she is intelligent enough to know when she has made a mistake. She is outspoken, confident, and beautiful. And she gets to marry Mr. Darcy! Who wouldn't want a Darcy to marry :)
The rest of the characters are so life-like. Everyone has their own personalities and quirks. I'm sure everyone knows someone who resembles Mrs. Bennet or Mr. Collins. The dialogue between the characters is so well written. You actually feel the emotions.
