I can do it this time! - I believe that I can finally make a positive difference in the way I look and feel.

I have finally decided to try this. I went today and had both of my ears stapled. It didn't feel much worse than when I had my ears pierced, although it's higher up on the ear. It feels a little odd right now, about an hour and a half later. I'm sure that will lessen with time. The doctor who did this was very strange. He told me that he offered ear stapling and different diet pills at his weight loss clinic as "bait" and he's trying to sell some other therapy which he gave me a CD about. I listened to a little bit and it sounds like hormone therapy. I'm not sure if I want to go there at all. We'll see. Wish me luck on this. I am feeling very motivated to lose weight (FINALLY) and start looking and feeling better. I have started drinking water again and I've exercised 3 days straight. I promised when I first posted about ear stapling that I would let y'all know if I decided to do it. I will continue to keep you posted on progress. Is anyone else feeling motivated to make improvements of any kind with the new year?

Congratulations on taking the first few steps in your efforts to lose weight. The fact that you are now drinking more water plus exercising is a big step in the right direction and now the acupuncture too. Remember that even on those days when you don't feel like exercising that even a 10 minute walk is better than nothing at all. I think the fact that you are motivated to lose weight is a big thing and quite a lot of the battle. Keep up doing what you are doing and make sure that you also keep us up to date with what is happening in your run towards your goal weight tentwo67. :)

It is interesting tentwo67 because I was told that about the 10 minute walk, and sometimes it is easier to do that than do nothing at all. When people say you must walk 30 minutes, or whatever, per day that can be off putting particularly if we are in a rush. This is why I like the 10 minute walk as it is generally manageable. Good luck.

I will keep you posted and I thank you so much for your kind words! I must remember what you've said about even a ten minute walk. I have such perfectionist tendencies that I have chosen too often in the past to not do it at all if I couldn't do it "right." This is something I struggle with in terms of housekeeping too, but flylady has helped with that. Thank you again!

It's an accupuncture/accupressure thing. This part of the ear is said to be good for curbing hunger and helping you quit smoking. I believe that believing in it is crucial for it to work, and I am very excited. I am also greatlyincreasing my water consumption and exercising more.

I couldn't find any information about ear stapling on the net. Where did you hear about it? How did you find a doctor to do it and how much did it cost? I will cross my fingers that it works for you. Maybe you can start a new craze on mylot for us dieters! :)

How long are you supposed to leave it in? The article didn't say. It sounds like I would only want to leave it in for about a month since I want to lose about 15-20 lbs.

I've seen different time periods, but where I went today recommends that you remove after 4 weeks. My plan is to see how it works, remove and if it worked well wait a short time then do it again.

I'll be anxious to hear the results. Sounds a little dubious to me. As someone who has almost tried anything to lose weight, I really hope this one works. I am finding that there is only one thing that works, it's diet and exercise, but, if this gives you that boost - More power to you!! I hope it works! Good Luck!

weightloss ear staple - This lady has celulitis from this ear staple used to lose weight. She didn't lose weight just gained an infection.
Take care of your ears! It is real risky. You can develope a condition called celulitis from these. The risk is high. Please take notice of the picture.

That's interesting! I've never heard of ear-stapling before. I haven't signed on here in a while, so I missed a lot. I hope you have success with this. I'm just trying to lose a few pounds and tone up. I'm not forcing myself to exercise every single day, because I know I won't stick with it. I told myself I would only do it three days a week. If I exercise more than that... bonus!

I had a manager years ago at Long John Silvers that had the ear stapling done. She did lose weight, but I haven't kept up with her over the years...that was 22 years ago...Good Luck!

I have never heard of this. It would be nice if it work's. But, I feel that if there was something out there that really work's, we'd all be skinny. I hope this work's for you. I think we need to watch what we eat and exercise some more, if it was only that easy.lol

Goodness .. it sounds rather brutal .. and to actually make a puncture through your ear ... doesn't sound very safe to me .. I'm sure there must be some sort of truth in it as that part of the ear is an accupressure point for the stomach .. but I can't find anything that say constant pressure is needed just using finger tip pressure beofre meals ... so you might try that as a free idea to losing weight .. Surely a much better, safer and much cheaper way is to buy the magnetic therapy ear studs for weight loss .. they are sold on yor US Amazon web site and are relatively cheap ...

WOWSERS EVEN!!! I don't think that I would want to have my ears stapled for any reason but let us know if this works for you ok? Maybe ear stapling will keep your mind off of trying to lose weight and keep you from eating because of the pain and discomfort involved. With my own experience as far as pain is concerned, I never want anything to do with eating when I'm in pain, I concentrate on getting rid of the pain. So I'm sure that there could be something to this ear stapling idea but I wouldn't want to try it either. I'm too chicken LOL The main thing that I am trying to improve on is 'continued edcuation' so I need to get more motivated and spend less time online to get with the program I'm already studying LOL.

I have found that my problem is not hunger. I have will power issues. If I see the bad things or am bored, I can't resist eating it. I make bad food choices. I want so much to get some will power. Do you have to touch the staple when you feel the urge to eat? Clean it daily with peroxide?
