I love any and all kinds of creatures. I used to live in Florida, USA. They had a refuge of loggerhead turtles. I found them quite interesting. When I was little, I had a tiny turle in a dish with an umbrella. I loved it. There seem to be so many different breeds of them, and so much more to learn.

I have 2 turtles, they aquatic ones. I bought them at the pet store and they were the size of a quarter. That was 8 years ago. They have went from a small fish bowl to a 35 gallon tank. I'm trying to find a home for them now. I think they would live a happier life in a pond or a small lake. They are about the size of a cantoloupe now. I feel like they are trapped.

I think that they are interesting creatures. I don't have any, but have seen so many of them. But, they tend to be dirty and do smell. What kind of turtles do you have? What are they called? How big are they?

My wife Laurel has about 50 red slider turtles,
which are amphibious turtles native to the valley
of the Mississippi River.
She keeps them in three plastic tubs outdoors.
They have grown from being about the size of a
US half dollar to, in some cases, the size of a
small dinner plate. Laurel enjoys the way the
turtles get excited at feeding time.
She feeds them Wardley's Turtle Bites, made by,
oddly, a Canadian company. The turtle food is
available at our local pet stores in Mexico.

I used to have several turtles, but had to let them go. My friend now has several. They can be very interesting to watch. Her turtle, "Romeo" actually lifts his head up and listens to us when we sing karaoke at her house. The others don't seem to pay much attention, but as soon as the music comes on he perks right up.
