Dog sold for 40Euro to buy BEER

Today i read in a newspaper that a man in Germany sold his step daughters pet beagle to the bar owner to buy beer but later seeing the girls attachment with her pet the bar owner returned the pet.
What do we do with people who sells others for their gains?? what do we do with these sort of people hate them or sympathetise them?
