You can make money on the net, depending on what you do, but it's never going to be a lot, unless you're seriously (and I mean seriously lol) motivated and willing to put the hours in. You can't make a living off surveys, that's the sort of thing you should do for extra money. There are sites that do pay or give giftcard, prize and the rest, but it takes a long time to gain points in order to be rewarded for it. Sites like mysurvey.com, acop.com, harris polls, and globaltestmarket.com do pay in some sense, but not much and very slowly. Mysurvey is probably my favorite. You also have to factor in that these sites send invitations to you to partake in their surveys if you meet what they're looking for, so you're not going to see something daily, except on rare occasions.
If you want to make somewhat decent money on the net, that means you need to find an actual online job, such as at-home phone work, typing, or sales. Half the time, though, you might need to work several at a time to make ends meet, as there's generall a lot of competition and little pay. So, you have to be motivated, well-discplined, and ambitious to really succeed.
