What do you thin about European Union?

Now, with Bulgaria and Romania, there are 27 nation in the U.E., the Euro is accepted and used all over the world, there are many nation that asked to get member of the Union. But I can't understand how much people is interested in U.E. . Is this Union something that interest only political men and few other person or is something of general interest? The Commission in Bruxelles and the Parliament in Strasbourg take decisions and create rules that concern everybody, but how much european people care of them? And what about people of the rest of the World? What do you think about U.E.?
