Did you buy more batteries than Christmas presents this year?

I swear, everytime I turned around, my kids toys needed more and more batteries. 4 for that one 12 for another one. One toy needed 6 C batteries AND a 9-V battery. I probably spent over $60 in just batteries this year. I have some rechargeable batteries, but they cost so much. And with the amount I need, I don't see the point. Does anyone feel my pain?

I know what you mean. My daughter goes through a lot also. I have started making her buy her own so she will be more responsible and not leave everything on and leave it.

Me too. I have 3 kids and I always make sure everything is turned off before they go to bed.

LOL, I feel the same, but I have been buying rechargable batteries for close to 3 years now. It seems expensive when you first invest but they do last quite a long time.

I share your frustration. I started ahead this year. Well I guess it last year now. Anyway every now and again when I would be shopping I would pick up a pack or two of batteries. I started in October. By Christmas I felt pretty good about having enough. I placed them all in a sturdy box ready to pull out at the first cry for double a's. Wouldn't you know it ...that day nobody needed any batteries except for my 7 year old and she needed 6 c batteries. Size c batteries were the only ones not in the box. I had overlooked that size. S I had every size battery except the one we needed! aahhh

Lol, don't you hate when that happens? I usually just don't have enough batteries, always need just ONE more.

Most of the toys now, have batteries, and most dont last very long.Kids like to play with there toys and the batteries run down fast.Just like on Christmas, my granddaughter came up to me and asked for batteries, she had a Christmas gift and the batteries did not come with it.But no i did not buy more batteries this year than gifts.
