We've all heard or possibly even seen the bad sportsmanship of parents at their childens ball games. It can get pretty brutal, parents sometimes go nuts on refs, other parents and some times evn take it out on a child. This rideculous, I was watching The Worlds Most Shocking Videos and they showed a peewee game and a kid got pushed down and his father ran on the field and bodyslammed the child that pushed his kid! I understand that your kid getting pushed is upsetting but take it up with parents the smart way. There is no excuse for hurting a child!!!

When my youngest daughter was 10-12 years old, she played on a softball team as the pitcher. She was totally awesome and was featured in the local newpaper for her abilities on the pitching miund...that is my proud parent moment here lol
Anyways, she was pitching against the number one team and was striking them out left and right. That night, she struck most of the players out, hit 3 homeruns and fielded several pop flies. One parent from the other team went to the fence and started yelling at her and threatening her. I got my daughter's attention and said, concentrate, don't let her get to you, come on, now, lets keep those strikes coming. Now, this parent ran around to my side and tried to assault me. It was so rediculous. Her own children were horrified at her behavior and to make matters worse, I realized as she tried to barrel me to the ground that she had been drinking. Now this woman had driven her kids to this game.
Our assistant coach went after her to try and stop her rampage and rants. She was escorted away and he was banned from that game which he took the punishment like an adult, even though it wasn't really fair, but he said, no, I lost my temper and the rules are against that. To me, he set a great example, taking the punishment for his actions like that.
Positive parental involvement is great, but cheering a team or coaching is as far as it should go.

I totally agree there is NO excuse for hurting a child!
That said,a parent must control themselves concerning outbreaks. They are teaching their kids that temper tantrums are ok as long as you win.
I always asked my son after a sporting event if he enjoyed the game.I supported him in all sports, but did not try to livr vicariously thru him.
I was a poor sport growing up and did not want my son to behave like I did sometimes.
