Is there anyone here who visited Galveston beach in Texas?

Many, many times, I live in Houston and have most of my life and since it is only 50 miles for me I go when I want to see the water, but not that pretty to look at

I was in Galveston for three days in 1963. I don't specifically remember going to Galveston beach but if there was a beach nearby I would have been there.
