The best thing about being a single parent is having my daughter of course. The worse thing about being a single parent is the struggle to meet all her needs whether they be emotional, physical or financial. Now that my daughter is 11 years old I'm faced with new concerns such as her becoming a teenager, how scary will that be, questions about her birth father, how much will she want to know, affording to send her to a good college when the time comes, letting go of her when she decides to move away.

Oh the joys of being a new mother. I remember thinking all of the same thoughts, but I was married. Somebody had to worry, and it wasn't her father. She will most likely wonder about her birth father at some point in time in her life. Be honest with her. Teen years are scarey. I raised 4 kids as a single-parent. It wasn't easy, but I did it.
If you love your daughter, raise her with good morals and support her in her endeavors she will grow to be a great person. Finances are not the most important thing to worry about.
Give her opporunities to learn. If she gets good grades she will be having colleges beating a path to your door to offer her a free ride. There are also grants and scholarships available as well.
Enjoy your baby my dear. Live each day as it comes. They grow so fast. Huggers to you and your daughter.
