What got you starting to play final fantasy?

So just curious, how did you first hear about final fantasy and what and when did you play it for the first time? mine was when i was renting a game from store and picked up final fantasy ix about five years ago, played it and loved final fantasy since..

my first FF was FF 9
I heard from my friends the series of FF are great, so I decided to play it (curious) and actually I've never played any game type RPG before, so it's little difficult but later it was awesome

Yeah Final Fantasy 9 was my first and never gone back since, except 10-2, that swayed me a bit

I found the original Final Fantasy game for the nintendo years ago. It's been at least 18 years since I first played it, something like that. From there I moved onto the SuperNES and the two games they had for that. I also played Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. That one was alot of fun. And then it was onto the first playstation and the PS2. I've played all of the games they have out for both, including the re-released ones. I'm just now working on FFXII. It's an interesting story line. Another Final Fantasy I like was for the Game Cube, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Either way, the Final Fantasy games have been an enduring thing for me I guess. Even my children play them now.

wow this game have cool graphics, i think first when i look final fantasy 8 with FMV i really amazed, the graphics is so great

I guess its the graphics that convinced me to play the game. I don't really like Final Fantasy stories it's too dull, in my iopinion. My brother really love the Final Fantasy series.

Why you think they have a dull story? i mean maybe final fantasy x-2 wasn't up to standards story wise, but the rest are great. why you think they're dull?

I saw the commercial for Final Fantasy VII while I was I Japan. I got the game and a Playstation before coming back to the US. I beat the game months before the US release, only to find out that Emerald and Ruby Weapons were added to the US version.
I don't care too much for the newer FFs but i do enjoy the older titles muchly.
