With all of the new ways available online to earn money, writing online is possibly the biggest and most profitable ways to earn extra cash online. For true, professional freelance writers this is a great way to jump start your career. But, do you think that writing on the web is a good way to market your writing skills? Where is the writing industry headed? Will keyword content writers be the "creative" freelance writers of the future? Is true creativity and the love of the writing process going to be lost forever?

I am a writer. I use forums like this to gather information about people and what to market. I sharpen my skills by taking refresher courses in writing and submit works I experiment with to AC content and Triond. Right now the online field with the "if you can do it, I can do it to people." That will thin out and money will be made.

I totally agree with that. I was thinking about whether or the influx of online writers will help or hurt true writers. Ultimately it will help them. Its going to be easier to distinguish between quality writing, and just keyword content novice works.

I don't think that the creativity of someone who writes will be lost through freelance writing online. Either handwritten or encoded, writing something comes from within and is still expressed through every word written. Now, with the world welcoming innovations, almost all are affected as well, including writing. Online is even an advantage because it will be widely seen and appreciated.

Personally, I think freelance online writing is quite a good thing. A lot of places give you an online profile of which to display your work is a great way of show casing what you've done and what you're capable of doing. However, there seem to be a lot of people that quite litteraly write crap and still get paid for it regardless and it's not fair to those who do take their craft seriously.

Take a look at some sites that have been around for awhile who have been using this same business model. epinions.com is one that comes to mind. There are people that are writing reviews of items/movies etc... everyday and do a better job at times than what you would read in the newspaper.
The cream will always raise to the top no matter how many there are out there.
