Why won't my avatar change?

I select one off my computer and it says succesfully saved or whatever but it doesn't change, I cant find anything in FAQ either.

I CAN SEE YOUR AVTAR IS CHANGED, actually you might be uploading some PNG which can not be placed on your avtar, only GIF or JPG can be used for it

yeah I managed to sort it out after, i was trying to load a bmp file, thanks though :D
