What do you do when you are stressed out?

I usually try to find a peaceful place, usaually in nature, to collect myself. Some place like below would be wonerful! Some times I will get my dog or kitty to snuggle up and pet as this is relaxing. Some times I will soak in the tub to wash away all the tension. The most helpful thing I can think of is to pray that God will help me through my tough time. How about you? I sthere some place you go? Or maybe some thing that youdo that helps you de-stress?

When I get stressed out I normally take my little Dog for a walk if it is warm but if it is bad weather I will go somewhere alone with him and I either have a good cry or just lie there and let things go through my Head. Now that I am living on my own I actually pick up the Pen and carry on writing my Book. I do that anyway but then I really loose myself in it.

We are working on our Stress less badge and I have been searching on line and found some really good sites. I included anger in our activities as the main thing that stressed my girls was expressed as anger. Here is a GREAT website to visit when you are stressed: http://www.totallystressedout.com/ It helps teach you how to reduce your stress and has LOTS of ways to do this. The name says it all!

I remember my faith, listen to uplifting music, talk to my hubby if he is home, and get a backrub. Choir practice is a de stressor, even when I try not to go. It is a blessing to go over the great music many times, it embeds it in our hearts and minds.

Faith is very important for a more stress free life. i wish that I could sing and be in the choir. God did not give me this talent though he his blessed me with a few. When passing the time and bored, and ALONE, I will often sing some of the childrens songs from my youth. Very rarly do I get a back rub and when I do it is never long enough. God bless you

I think it would be easier if you asked me what I do when I'm NOT stressed LOL It would be a shorter answer ;) My greatest de-stresser is writing. The easiest way for me to let go of something is to write it down. It's like physically taking it and putting it somewhere else where I am better able to deal with it. I've always been like that. I wrote the typical "teen angst poetry" (LOL!) when I was young and now I blog or write in other ways. Other than that, I will stare mindlessly at the tv for a bit with a good cup of coffee or tea (how caffeine de-stresses me, I'll never know) or walk on my treadmill. In the nice weather, I'll go water my flowers or just breathe in some fresh air.

I had a feeling we shared more than a music connection. Most of these things sound like thingst I could do for relaxing/destressing.Except for the walking on the tredmill. I do have one though, we use it to hold empty hangers and the spare jacket or two lol. When my mother passed away , I had the most beautiful garden ever. I don't think you have too much stress, you seem to know lots of ways to get rid of it. Even your avitar is peaceful. God Bless you.

Music is a great stress reducer for me but my favorite way to reduce stress is to hike in the woods behind my home. Nature just seems to make me refocus and get ready to start all over again.

I would have thought you would say "Cooking is what I do for stress relief,nothing like kneading bread to get out your frustrations!" LOL I do use nature to destress often. It makes me feel closer to God and how can I feel stressed when He is so close? :+}

I hate stress. It actually makes me sick. I take a hot bath and go to bed. When I wake up, I usually feel better. If it is really bad stress, I listen to my iPod untill I can sleep.

When I am stressed, I go a for a drive or a ride on my bike.. that eases and slows my thoughts.. then I treat myself with a ice cream that cools me down. then i recollect the events, see wht went wrong, how it can be sorted out and what should be planned for future and how best an effort can be put into it or who i can ask for help. talk to my parents just to know they are there with me to support me always. wash my face and get on with my life again.

I do different things depending on what's stressed me out. I'll go to my room and have a good cry, or I'll put on my coat and go for a walk, or I'll go shopping, or go for a cup of coffee and a nice cake in the local coffee shop. Anything to distract me.

I think the one I do the most is stress others out with whatever is stressing me. I am not meaning to do this, but by the time I am done 'barking' at them about what has got me stressed, they are probably stressed too hehehe. After that it's time for something to eat, and not always healthy stuff either.

ROFLMAO! At first I thought you meant snapping at others and being mean, you know, misery loves company! I think getting things off your chest is an excellent way to de-stress! It gives you an outlet for your anger with out hurting anyone, well maybe a few ears if you are REALLY stressed, but it can help. I also eat to relieve stress, even though we know it is not good!

Yeah I tend to eat more when really stressed. I have a favorite sayin; If you are going to worry, about it don't pray If your gonna pray about it, do't worry. I read this on a church sign and it helps me to keep from worrying to much. +

When I get all stressed out I find a book and snuggle up with my dog or 1 of my cats. Sometimes I put on a motivational cd and listen to it. I like the ocean surf and the babbling brook the best. They are so relaxing.

I have thought about getting one of those sleep machines that plays the sounds of nature to help you sleep/relax. I just hate to pay so much for it, maybe the C.D. would be cheaper, I may check that out. +

I am really stressed out today about two particular situations in my life that aren't of my own making yet I am having to clean up the mess for others. I found writing it down helped, as did speaking with friends this morning. It made the problem seem smaller.

Go into a room by myself and blast music as loud as I want, according to what mood I'm in. That usually helps me.

listening to favorite music is one of the best ways... but usually if i am stressed i just take some time to think the source of that stress and find out if i can do anything to reduce it.. if i find that i have no control over it i will just forget the whole thing as if nothing happened.. anyhow nothing is goin to change if we just keep stressing ourselves..

I agree, stress accomplishes nothing! I will ask myself, Will it matter in 5 days? or 5 years. If not, why stress about it!

Sometimes I go for a long walk its very relaxing for me.Nice sleep often helps me to overcome stress.Smoking is another way to wash my tension. When I am very stressed I take the help of meditation.20 minutes of complete meditation can be very helpful.I think praying to god is helpful to overcome stress.
