Is Orkut addictive?

I have been a member on Orkut.com for like 2 months now and i find it really addictive. I was a member on hi5 too but I never found that as addictive as i find orkut now. I log on to my orkut account and regularly check my scraps , friend requests , fans etc etc. How many of you all use orkut? And are you guys addicted to it as well like how I am?

U r right... Orkut has really become an addiction......... Do u know y.........???? coz... orkut has the best user interface 'N we can go through it easily....... We can scrap our frnds jus givin us the feelin of Smsin in our cell phones........ Its gr8 to be in orkut.....

I don't think you can compare myLot to orkut , both are entirely different concepts. Both are good in their own ways. It would be nice if Orkut started paying too for scrapping and stuff ;)

ya i think orkut is addictive. i m too addicted to orkut, but this addiction to orkut is not bad because on orkut u just come across to ur friends so i cant be considered bad.

yes it is in no way bad. I think it is the best way to keep in touch with long distance friends , friends with whom you cannot talk on the phone with.

I am too a member of orkut. But i never find it to be so addictive. As orkut links me with my friends, with whom i've lost contacts since my school days i just login to it to find my new friends. That too once in a week. So orkut never seems to be addictive.

There are very few people like you prabhu who do not find orkut addictive. Though you have your opinion , I just wanted to add that orkut is not only about adding new friends. You can join communities and know lots of stuff like how I came to know about myLot through Orkut.

yes orkut is addictive because we can have cotact with our frnds without remmebering the email ids and we can have contact with them even when we are miles away. yes sometimes i do sit for nearly 3-4 hours adding frnds etc.
but its very bad that because some people use it wrongly we may have to suffer .

yeah , news has it that it will be banned :( . You are right , we can keep in touch with our friends without even knowing their email id's.

All hi5 did was to use the same old online chat concept.
Orkut lets you surf other people's profile and even read their message history. Now why wouldn't you love snooping on other people's contacts and lives LOL.........

yes , after I joined myLot my orkut usage has decreased a bit but I am still very much addicted and very much in love with orkut!

yes orkut is addictive specially if you've got a good number of friends in it. you just cant stop orkuting.

I have got 160 friends on orkut and i constantly am on orkut , either scrapping or something. Infact I got to know about mylot only through orkut!

I am really addicted to orkut... thats infact ive been in orkut for more than a year..
for the past 6 months.. i am addicted..... I have come to the US... and I maintain contact with my Indian friends only thru orkut.. thts mainly because u don need... to remember.. mail ids...
also we gusy diunt even get atutographs for the farewelll.. we relied on orkut testimonials.....
we hope.. orkut.. will be ther.. throughout our lufetime... and also.. at some point even if orkut becomes a pay site.. we will not mind paying and using it...
what do u ppl say abt this?

Yes , once it becomes paid or if it becomes paid, I wont mind paying for it. But , news has it that orkut may be shutting down its operations in India as it is used by members Of the D-gang and other terrorist organisations to recruit people who aspire to make it big in the underworld.

ya i use orkut and i do find it addictive.. there was a time when i used to check my scraps at least 5-10 times a day... i used to sit online for hrs and hrs, and i know so many people who do the same.. ppl get so depressed and frustruated on the days when the orkut server is under construction coz they cant check their scraps, its like an obsession u know.. orkut is a really good site to meet new ppl, but i think its usage shud be a bit controlled...

yes , maybe with the passage of time my Orkut addiction will also subside though it is showing now signs of subsiding at the moment!

It is highly addictive website even to the extent that i have known people who would just sit in front of the pc refreshing the page every 5 sec doing nothing for hours together just in hope of a scrap.
But I feel that nowadays the orkut site is dying down, it is no longer fun and people seem less interested in usin it.
Come on let us mylot users flood orkut with scraps again

Yes , I know people too who just sit for hours on the orkut website refreshing every two minutes hoping for a scrap. I don't think though that orkut is dying down in any way, I still believe it is as popular as it was 6 months back.

yes orkut is very addictive even a new user can easily understand. its features are so simple and we can reachout to the people easily and most importantly its a place for oldfriendz to reunite
