can machines think?

just imagine a machine solving complex problem for you in a human like fashion or performing all the function & thinking process which an intelligent human mind can do? seems intresting............isn't it?
but how it is possible? the answer comes with ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
you all are agree or not,discuss with me if you have an idea about the it......

Anyway, I do not believe they can "think" really. Do you know what AI is? AI is a set of rules that they follow. Or, from what I've seen, it only tells something what to do, and if this doesn't work or this shows up, change course to this, etc.
Here was an interesting definition for AI on dictionary.com
"The ability of a computer or other machine to perform actions thought to require intelligence. Among these actions are logical deduction and inference, creativity, the ability to make decisions based on past experience or insufficient or conflicting information, and the ability to understand spoken language."
But the way I see it is when pulling up past experiences, they can't be lost like they can be with us, but are rather stored and then read. I dunno, I could see it going both ways, I hope I made some sense and helped you think this one out :/

Now that I think of it though, it's not like a computer has a "free will" to think like it wants. It is told what to do by a set of instructions and can't be convinced otherwise unless told to. Of course, this is with today's technology...
