You must be young; in your 20s? it's alright; I didn't care for them either, but now I truly love classics. Open your mind and perhaps you will.

Some' my favourite ones are:
1)Braveheart
2)The Sound of music
3)Scarface
4)Titanic
5)Forest Gump
6)To kill a Mockingbird
7)Jaws
8)A walk to remember
9)tears of the sun....and many more
Why do i like them? Because their scripts are so original and they help you broaden your thoughts about life. There are many classic movies which are fun as well.It depends on which genre you are into.
Infact most of modern days' films take inspiration from these classics.

I love classic movies. I think they concentrated more on the stories and characters than on special effects. Not saying there aren't good modern movies, but I just love the classic films and actors. The Sound of Music is fun because I enjoy musicals and also stories set during World War 2. I liked Roman Holiday because I like stories about royalty, even a fictional one, and I like the fantasy of taking off from your duties and just having fun.
