Sometimes blind people can see shadows and light, which can cause headaches. Or, they might have something physically wrong with their eyes that they don't want everyone to see

I had a friend in school who was blind. Because the muscles around his eyes had never properly developed, his eye sockets looked like they were sunken in. He wore dark glasses so that this appearance wouldn't make others uncomfortable. Also, many blind people can see just a hint of light and shadows, so perhaps that is sometimes distracting. The dark glasses would take care of that.

So, you mean to say wearing dark glasses will amrove asthetics...is it? i really don't understand your concept and the second reason what you gave is the thing to think over..i am just wondering here, whether blind people's eyes are more sensitive than other people...! how is it possible and how can you say that their eye's are more sensitive?

Yeah, i can agree to your point and this might be one reason here .But, whether it can be the same reason for everybody who are blind is really unknown isn't it? according to me, around 90 % of the blind people are roaming around with dark glasses and there might be multiple reasons for these i believe....

As a blind person, I can tell you that total blindness is in fact pretty rare...Mot of us have some sort of light perception, shadow perception, or in most cases, are what's called "legally" blind, which means you have some sight...
As far as the glasses go, most blind people I know don't wear them that often. For those who do, there are a variety of reasons.
First, for many of us, our actual eyes are fine...In my case, from the time I was young, my mother encouraged me to wear dark glasses to protect my actual eyes in case they ever came up with a surgery to attach my optic nerve to the brain and work it out so I can see. This way, my eyes would still be healthy. I admit, I rarely wear sunglasses now that I'm an adult.
Second, as has been said before, many wear it for asthetic purposes because of eye deformities...Mostly to make other people comfortable, or frankly, to keep dust and debris out of the eye sockets in the cases of those who don't have any eyes to begin with.
Finally, hey...Doesn't EVERYONE want to look like Stevie Wonder? LOL
Hope this helps answer your question.

nice post...before reading it I was planning to answer that blind people wear glasses to avoid the feeling of markedness or you can say not to be completely different from other people. This I guessed as they generally wear glasses in social settings or while going out. I agree to all your reasons but this might also be one from my experience of other disability.

Yes infinity plus1 , i do agree with your point of view also and now i have also come to a conclusion that people who are completely blind will not bother about wearing glasses and people who do wear glasses will not be completely blind and they do see some light i believe..
