How safe is it to put your picture on orkut???

I have seen many people on orkut put up many photographs of themselves in their albums.. But recently, I receieved an e-mail which said that its really easy to download pictures and morph them with other indecent photographs.. and ive realised that this is very true and such things happen on a much wider scale than i imagined.. what is your opinion on this?? How safe so you think it is to upload your own pics??

Well,it depends...If it is a small picture in your profile..dont worry,rest assured...no one can do anything to it...It is a really small image,which,if altered,produce no results. But adding fotos to albums must be done with caution,especially if you are a lady. Such fotos are of original size,with original clarity and resolution. They can be easly altered and used for illegal purposes. So,I would advice you to add caution regarding that matter.

i agree with the fact that its def not safe, there was an incident in my city recently where a girl cut off contact with some guy she used to chat with on orkut, so to get back at her he made a fake account and uploaded morphed indecent pics of her and added all her friends.. and when she tried to take legal action he deleted the account.. its better to be safe than take a risk. If anybody still wants to put up their pic, id suggest that they resize it to stamp size, decrease da resolution, even better make it black and white, such images cannot be magnified...

There are many cases in which A picture is taken from orkut and morphed and it apperas on new profile and distributed among your orkut friends
I don't think that it is safe to have your pictures over orkut.The morphing of pics is not a very hard task anybodu can do with the use of simple softwares, so its better to be safe then sorry. who knows if somebody is jealous of you or some enemy of yours found your profile on orkut morph your pictures and upload them on orkut.

its not at all safe specially for females. a large number of cases have been filed regarding such issues.

yes ..there are some chances of morphing .also as it is an community where any one can access your profile and can see pitures..so would not recommend anyone to add piture in their pic gallery..
rest is your choice if want to become famous then go add it!!

I would never put a real picture of me on the internet .. 'what's that you thought my avatar was really me' ... it is possible to take any picture from anywhere on the internet and use it for good or bad reasons ... some folks will use others pictures in bad ways .. even to use it as their own identity .. so no ... I would never post a real picture ...

well yes it is "NOT At All SAFE"..it is really not advisable to put your picture in orkut because of the fake thing coming up.don know whether you read it in newspaper or not but a student of 12th standard is caught red-handed as he had made some fake profile on the name of his class-mate,had used her picture also n passed some remarks as well..so be careful..n nvr put ne picture on orkut..

ya its very true they use these photos to do those indecent works n they usually look for new faces so its strictly recommended not to put own photos in orkut

i dont think that its safe to put ur own pic on the orkut beacuse we cant relly on it coz anybody can save it and do anything thats why i also didnt put my pic on orkut and i have selected sm walpaper and put that on it so that it ill look gud..

it's really unsafe to use ur real pic on sites such as orkut.i recieved a mail in which the pics showed what photoshop can do.there r a lot more programs & sum r more powerful than others thereby ppl r able to edit almost evrything in a pic.and soon evn stamp size pics of urself may not be safe
