If you were Izzy, would you have cut Denny's line?

At the end of season 2, Izzy cut Denny's lines in order to make him "worse" to get him the new heart. If you were in her shoes, would you have done the same? Do you think it was right for her to do that, or just selfish? What do your morals say on this issue? The other guy that was going to get a heart was a father of 2 small children. What is your opinion on this?

I don't think I would have done it, but in situations like that you usually don't know what you would really do until it happens to you. You can't plan ahead, you don't have much time to think and you don't want to lose the love of your life. It would be a very highly emotional situation. Sometimes logic goes out the window when you love someone and your emotions take over. There is really no way you can predict what you would do in that situation. One thing I have learned in life is to 'Never Say Never'.

I agree. My first thought is to say No but when really faced with that decision...who knows...? Especially thinking that this was the last chance for the love of your life to get...

No, I would never have done that in a million years. She didnt do it for Denny. She did it for herself. It was all about HER. She was being selfish and I still cant stand her for it. It was immoral and illegal..She killed him

It's a tough position. From a personal perspective, I would do anything for my boyfriend to get the heart. From a medical perspective though, she definitely did the wrong thing.
It's hard when your emotions get in the way of ethical/professional decisions. Who knows, if she had never cut the wire, she might at least have a few more months with him. It's a huge weight on your conscience though....to know you killed the person you loved the most.

Not a chance! But I think I also would've respected his choice to go DNR and not had the crying/begging scene they had.
As far as the morals thing, I can't really say....who is to say which person most deserves a heart? I just think it would've been hard to see him suffer, and it was selfish of her to ask him to go on when he was ready to go.

No, I think it was wrong. First, she deceived the transplant committee. Second she browbeat Denny into going along with it. He was morally against stealing a heart from the other patient, but she kept screaming at him, "what about ME?!" until she wore him down. Since he was weak, I'm sure his defenses were down. Izzy wasn't thinking about anyone but herself. That's all in her asking Denny, "what about me?"

Hmmmm... I would want to be with my loved one forever but I guess god has a plan and it rather be a good few days than forever. So I guess I would have tried to make the most of the time I had.
But then it wouldn't be Grey's Anatomy if it wasn't for all the drama.

No, I wouldn't have done it, I wouldn't have the guts! I don't think people think clearly when they are so upset though.
