It is not necessary to have any girlfriend,but it is necessary to have friends,but in you discussion you not cleared that what is the mean of girlfriend,just having friendship with any girl or falling in love with any girl.

i think girl friend is not necessary but if any one have a girlfriend.then i think it is a advantage.something is better than nothing.
