Do you really need the massive harddrive on an ipod?

Is 30 or 80gbs really needed, or is it just eye candy. How much space do you have left on your ipod right now. State your ipod and the maount of space left. Me. Ipod Video 30gb12 gb of space left.

i don't have Ipod , but i think it is good for carrying data instead of songs only, so it would be nice to have big amount of storage in ipod
