well how many of you think that the decission to give the ball to sachin by dravid was a bit late. i think he should have been given a chance to bowl before lucn and not to try the pacers like munaf and sreeshant. at that time they were new to the crease and the bowl was spinning a lot. well it is doing now also and will do more as the game progresses. so if dravid would have decided earlier then i think indian might have been in a very good position. this is why i think dravid is not a very good captain. specialy compared to saurav

well if he cant bowl to good batsmen then how can he get kallish ut. he has got many important wickets like ricky ponting etc. so he is a very good bowler and as he will bowl spin it will not be very physically demanding thing for him so he can do that and become an allrounder for the team. cause now he cant make huge hundreds

i agree to you. sachin should have given bowling erlier he was gevien. and i also dont think dravid is a good captain specialy compaired to sourav.

well thanks man yes i desperately want that saurav should be the captain before the world cup and with the loss in the sa series the captaincy of dravid is at stake. the only thing is that he has been declared the captain till world cup by the management.

Just one remark about Dravid's captaincy in One Day games:
"FORGET AND FORGIVE".
You can't expect anything better from a man who stares helplessly at the pavilion all the time to receive instructions from Guru Greg.
I think, Harbhajan was an automatic choice in this game. This is another mistake apart from the one you have pointed out.

yes you are quite right. in this match harbajan should have been played. mrunaf patel as not match fit which was prominent by his efforts in the field and also in a turning pitch you have to play your best spinners. you can trepl yon shewag and sachin to do the same job which harbajan can do. then why do they go to the tours if they would not be used. send them home so that they can play the local matches and have match practise.
and even our teams contract system is strange which brings a doubt in my mind

yes even i agree to that. if he was given bowling earlier then the match may have been different because we all know that south african players in general are not good players of spin and sachin was spinning the ball miles. so he could have turned the game for india as he has done at many occassions.

I accept that to full extent.. Dravid don hav such a quick thinking ability like ganguly.. Ganguly is far more better captain than dravid..

yes chappel does all the spoon fedinf to dravid. and that is why when the situaton goes out of control then he has nothing to do and makes bad and unwanted decissions. and also since the time he has been made the captain he is playing really bad. he has not scored in this whole seriesd and ganguly is the highest runs scorer for india. and in the whole series forindia. overall it is prince from south africa, but still he played well and we should not forget he played most of the times witht he tail enders and that made him end his inns quickly

well to give a chance to bowl in the case of sachin its the best thing to do because he can do all the kind of remixes with tht ball and confuse any damn good batsman for example jacques kallis who read the ball wrongly and couldnt go for the shot anyways i consider him as the good bowler who can change the conditions of the current match..anyways i think india must win the series since they have worked hard..

yes he is a very smart bowler. he does it as a prt time thing but he is very smart and because he himself is a very great vastman he can read the mind of the batsman who is facing him and so he bowls according to that and that makes him really very leathal. and he also has many kind of variatinos to bowl so he has varities also which keep the bastman guessing.
all in all he is very effective and should do a bit of bowling in sich pitches.

Saurav is a far better captain than dravid and it is a wel known fact and infact dravid is more of defensive approach and saurav is sort of aggressive approach incaptaincy issue and regarding team selection also, dravid erred in not giving harbajan a chance here in a wicket which is helping spinners a lot and the way sachin was turning, yes i do agree that sachin wasintroduced a bit late here....

yes saurav is a far better captain and aslo a far beter leader than dravid. he has that quality imbebeded in him and that is why all the players like him very much and also they respect him a lot, he was facing problem inhis batting no doubt but the situation culd have been handleded better.

no , i dont think so.
sachin is not a regular bowler .
he is just a part-time bowler.
if luckily he takes wicket (as of kallis),it doesn't means he must b given over before.
hence i think dravid is a good captain & has a good judgement of bowlers too.
although i m in contrast with your views but i think its a fact.

Sachin should have been given bowling during the start...may be that could have restricted south africa to a lower total and increased india's chances of winning the match..

Ya I will agree with you that he should have given the Ball to sachin before the lunch, But I wont agree that He is not a good Captain, we need to understand that Captain is not the only player should Contribute to the Teams success, there are 11 players in the team, under sourav Gangulies Captaincy most of the Players are in form and making good contibutions, ever since rahul has taken the captaincy most of the players are out of form, you need to note that under Dravids Captancy INDIA chased 15 consacutive ODIs and made World Record, INDAI won the test series in West Indies.
sourav was captained Indian team for 5 years but rahul is in erarly 3rd year, there is lot still left

Not sure that you should throw the ball to a part-time bowler like Sachin too early. Part-Timers often take wickets of well set batsmen, but that's only because they are well set. They can't resist trying to help themeselves against 'weaker' bowlers. Anyway moving on, all the mylot Indian fans will be looking for Sachin and VVS to make some runs now (114/4) or there could be trouble brewing.

yes he did err their but at times it is seen that even ganguly couldnt use sachin option that well, in the historic test which india won in kolkatta (the v.v.s laxman's 281 runs match) in the first innings harbhajan was bowling well from one end but from other it was a fast bowler and not spinner where sachin would be handy.
but that doesnot make ganguly a bad captain he is definately better in fact best indian captain so far.
according to me it was only azhar who did optimum use of sachin the bowler remember the match wer 7 runs wer needed of one over and azhar tossed the ball towards sachin and we won.
anewaz i dont mean azhar is better then dravid

well i think really its a good move. in many tigh situation he has proved a vital bowler by picking wickets which were not looking possible for teh front line bowlers. so i think he should do a bit of bowling, also now a days he contributes very little with the bat. so he can do that i suppose.
