What's the most pathetic situation you have been in?

Mine happened last September 2006 when a super-typhoon struck Manila, Philippines. The typhoon brought electricity and telecommunication lines down which means no TV, no internet, no phone, no lights.. for a week!! Not every household could afford electricity generators so you could expect candle-lit dinners all around the city. Also one must be creative enough to "survive." If you want to recharge your mobile phone, do it in your office. Or go to the mall to feel the civilization. At home, we tried to beat boredom by playing bored.. I mean, BOARD games. Good thing we had enough water supply for the week so taking a refreshing bath wasn't a problem :-) So by far, this is the most pathetic situation I have encountered in my life. It's like joining Survivor, only it isn't shown on TV.
