I think the main reason is the environment that people live or work in, has a lot to do with it. For example my previous job was in an office which had a lot of truck drivers. Now in the front those guy's were well behaved, however ones they got around each other the words would just fly. However when you would meet them outside of work, there were some that did a complete turnaround, no swearing what so ever. But then their were others that did. Now I work at a Radio Station and Everyone swears here. I usally try to watch what I say, but since I started working here, a couple of things have slipped.

its because they might have lied so many times that they fear people would not believe in whatever they say or do. that is the reason they swear! they wanna win people's confidence.

That's how they get there anger out. I don't swear unless I absolutely don't swear untill I get made.

I have always believed that many people swear to A: emphasize their point of view or B. prove to the listeners that they have either very few language skills or that they are just rude, crass fools.

Some people swear because they can not find any better words to use. It happens some times.

i don't know why but i just hate this habbit. Most of the times people who swear plays a false game. And i don't really believe on the wordings of swearer.
