Taking advantage of the system?

Just to put this out there.. After I had my daughter, I did qualify for daycare assistance.. So I guess I was getting some help.. and when I was pregnant, I had the medical card.
I was just talking with a friend and I was thinking about how many people I know are either taking advantage of the system now, or took advantage of it in the past..
I belong to "freecycle.org" and you search for your community and then you post free "wanted" "offer" adds to either find free junk or to give your stuff away to someone who needs it.. And I befriended a person there.. as I was talking to her, she was explaining to me how she gets 750 a month in food stamps and basically everything paid for and her and her bf work side jobs under the table so they don't have to report their incomes.. She goes on freecycle and starts every "Wanted" thread with a boohoo story and throws in there "Single mother of 3 young children".. I guess it's true, she's single, because she's not married.. but they live together and have.. so it's like a slap in an actual single mothers face, because when you're actually a single mother, you don't have that other person there to help out.
I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the point.

I know there are so many that take advantage of the system. I like you used the med coupons during pregnancy. Other than medical I have not used anything offered. I feel even though you can qualify for some assistence does not mean you have to use it or abuse it. I also belong to freecycle, great site. It is sad that someone had to pretty much deceive you and others. Single mom to me does mean you don't have a significant other. That person has just seemed to have found a way to pull one over the eyes of the system. Its sad cause there are many who really do deserve.

I had the med card whe I was pregnant and now my son is on it but soon his father will fianlly have insurance with his job. I don't feel I abused it or anything. When I got pregnant, I had my own insurance but prenatal wasn't covered, then after I had my son we couldn't afford it. Someone may say I'm abbusign it though ecasue I decided to stay home with him instead of get a "real" job to pay for or get insurance through work, but this wayI do' tave to put my son in daycare, which was inmportant to me. I wanted to raise my son, not let someone else raise him.
