Why do children of today drift away from their parents?

Kids as they join college refuse to stay with their parents,should it be termed as independence or lack of family bonding? What do you think??

I sit not part of society to be like this noe. I do not think it is fair to make such a sweeping statement. If the family is a close family unit and everyone is close then that will remain teh case. If the family has had problems then maybe they will drift apart. If it is the "done" thing to for people to leave home then some of them will do that. This just life.
