auditions for soap operas

Has anyone ever auditioned for a soap opera? It is my goal in life to land a role on As the World Turns. I'm hoping Oprah can help me with this someday. I have a ways to go though, I have no acting experience, and need to keep working out to get my body back after having my 3rd child a month ago. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get started toward this goal? Should I be shopping for agents? I want to sign up for some acting classes at a college close by too, I think this might help me prepare.
