Friend in need is a friend indeed (that's a proverb). I definitely agree on that proverb. Nowadays, we see money talks. If we have money, the world seems smile at me. If we are broke? Nobody cares. How many TRUE friend(s) who cares when you are broke, when you re sad, when you are on the bank of frustration, you actually have?

If you want a true friend, then I am here. I have very little money but a heart filled with compassion, understanding and love. I offer to be a friend to anyone who needs a friend.

I can count two real good friends that happen to be women, I have 2 good friends that are male. One lady has proven herself to be of high friendship value. We can talk about anything and disagree and not have hurt feelings. I feel fortunate to have them all.

I'm probably lucky in the sense that aside from having a really close family I grew up with a core group of about half a dozen friends who 30 odd years later are still very close to me. We've seen each other through everything - good times and bad, marriage and divorce, kids, travel, money issues and pretty much everything a person goes through :-)

My husband and family are my best friends. Outside of family I have lots of acquantainces but just one true friend. She has been my friend since childhood and we have always stood by each other through good times and bad. She is now living in the UK, but we talk regularly on the phone and we visit each other a few times during the year. If one of us is upset over something, we will make the jouney to be together so that we can comfort each other.

I have about 5 true friends... and of course a ton a family that would support me if times got rough. I have a close group of friends my and husband and I both love that are dear to us and help us through everything no matter the circumstance.
Maybe what makes us different is our faith. We spend many years together in our church youth group.

If I count my sister, my fiance and my mom... I'd have to say like 4! I only have one friend outside of my family that I can share my problems with. The others are fun to hang out with but I don't feel they'd care about my problems - trust me I've tried to discuss them with them but they'd rather talk about their own problems all day. It's ok though, b/c I got the 3 people mentioned above and that's all that matters :) My coworkers are also good to talk about problems with, and I hope to be friends with some of them even outside of work so I can add to my list of true friends :)

yeah, you must realize what a friend really mean! so you can count one by one. By counting them, you will maintain your friendliness with them in a good way.

I have four such friends...One of them is my Dad, the next one is my friend from 2nd standered the other one from my UG classes (~7 years + we have been friends) one from my PG classes (~ 3years + we have been friends). I feel myself very lucky; because although I don't have whole buch of friends I have limited no of them on whom I can count on.

in my lifetime, i have learn to categorize different kind of friendships. acquaintance is a friend you only say hi to and only good for a small talk. a friend can be your officemate or a person you get to be with on a semi-regular basis. bestfriends are buddies for life. they are the ones that stick with you thru thick and thin. and they are the one you share your secrets with and matter how scarce you see them, it doesn't really matter..for them, you'd always be the same, a real friend! then there's the user-friendly kind of friend. they're only there when they need something from you.
