I've been jogging for quite a while now, but ive never been very regular.. ive been jogging for around 5 km each day for the past week, its easy for me to jog long distances as i have good stamina.. but im not sure how long i should jog continously without the danger of muscle cramps and whether it will really help me lose weight overall... is there anyone who can tell me how long i shud jog everyday to lose maximum weight soon?

well .. jogging is the best thing to loose weight and maintain ur body structure.
Jogging 5kms daily is enough for the begining but u can increase it accordingly day after day you jog. Suppose u joke for 5 kms for a week and then u will be able to extend ur jogging distance to 7-8 kms b'coz then u will be having stronger muscles and increased stamina.
And ya it is good to start from a distance of 5kms and u can extend it upto 15kms if u jog regularly for 2-3 months. If there is a question of lossing weight quicly, u can use other measures to do that like controlling ur diet, taking less carbohydrates, avoid sugar, etc..

Me and my boyfriend have been looking at alot of exercise websites and it says that jogging helps, but doing it regularly makes your body used to it, so it doesn't work as well. If you're going to jog, don't make it like the same time and distance every day, change it up. It's worked pretty well for me so far, but I also throw in a few more exercises like crunches as well. good luck!

I've read that you will need to excerise for more than 30minutes to start burning calories, which will then burn fat to lose weight. So I guess it's not about the distance you need to jog, but more about the time you spend jogging. Hope this helps!

I agree that it may not be the distance that helps you, but the time amount you do it. You want to get the body to work up a sweat, and raise the heart lvl in a healthy manner.
Becareful with your knees. Nothing messes them up worse then running. If you're easy on your knees, breaking a sweat, and feeling better then you're on the right track.
