This time the speed of wireless is not too much. But i think future is wireless.Actually a lots of development in wave technology is still waiting to perform. This time cable may dominate but sooner or later it have to be back sitted.

Cable is faster. It's a bih fat wired pipe.
Wireless systems are generally far less speedy, usually less than DSL.Wireless also has the connectivity issue.
With wired, you plug ur ethernet cable into the cable modem and boom ur connected. With wireless, once stable connections may become unstable.

yes even i think cable internet is better than wireless, but the thing is wireless has mobility so for laptop it is the best. but when you have a comp desktop and you want good speed. then i think it is better to have cable modem rahter than wireless. and also there are many complication in setting up wireless ones. then the power problems.

in this internet cafe, there is 2 connection. 1 is wireless and cable. the speed of the wireless is 10 time faster than cable. but its more expensive, because the price of wireless is Rp.20.000,- and cable is Rp.6000,-. Now i ask you which one you gonna choose? :?

wireless is more easy affected by interference by other signal n weather (rain snow etc)
cable is more interference proof .. since it protected by the jacket .. some cable also protect with metal protection (like coaxial cable) it is more shielded from interference ...
from that we can logicly think that cable is more reliable than wireles .. (also depend on the quality of the cable offcourse)
IMHO CMIIW

To me cable is much better. First is in terms of security. Second is reception and connection.

Can't say I have a preference really..wireless is better in the sense that you can actually go places with your computer instead of being stuck in one spot all the time, that has to get a plus in my book.

You're kind of comparing apples and oranges. It all depends on what's on the other end of the wireless. You could have a wireless network that feeds into a T3 or an OC12 or one that feeds into a slow DSL connection. It all just depends. Cable can be better than a lot of wireless networks, but you can't make a blanket statement without knowing what's on the other end of that network.

well i think cable net is preferable more in my country pakistan.
It is more reliable and tension is not on us its on the head of cable net owner.
In cable service we have a sharing service so we can share many things and enjoy the net .
