After all the drama and shenanigans here ahead of the third Test, the axe finally seems to be coming Virender Sehwag's way. According to sources close to the selection panel, the mercurial opener, who batted in the middle order and actually held on to his place here as the second spinner, might be given a brief respite for the home series against West Indies.
"We all agree that he is a good player and has a fine record too. But he's going through a wretched phase at the moment," they said. "How long can anybody continue with him if it looks like he'll get out off every ball that he faces?"

They were a good pair. But Sachin is yet to find his right balance and Sourav?,,,,, only time will tell. But I feel it is best not to take chances. We have to decide on the openers and it has to be fast as the World Cup is around the corner. And the openers have to be given time to accustom to each others way of batting.
