Hi do you think that it is right for schools to give children homework to do everyday, after having a long day of education at school?
do you think this helps a child or puts to much pressure on a child with so much learning to sink inside the head?
what do you Think please let me know your thoughts on this?

The problem with homework is, every teacher has
their own agenda and course work. They don't take
into account all the other teachers a child has
throughout the day. It is indeed too much pressure
on a child. The only good thing about it is, if the
parents are involved, it is good for bonding.

The parents should take the time to do other things for bonding. I don't recall ONE MOMENT that I actually bonded with my parents while doing homework. All we did was fight! Playing games or doing other activities are ways to bond ...

Anyway you can bond with a child is good.
Homework is not a good thing but until none
is given, it is a learning process for both
child and parent. If you are fighting, than
the problem is much deeper than just homework.
Anything you do with your children is bonding.
It's just a matter of if you're smart enough
to recognize that.

One last thing. Being that you were that child
in question, you wouldn't understand that
just doing fun things doesn't prepare you
for adult life.

What are your thoughts on the subject? (no pun intended). I am totally against homework. I think to study for a test would be the only homework I'd give if I were a teacher. Kids work so hard in school that I don't think they need to bring home extra work. They need time to develop as people - find out who they are. They need to read books because they want to. If we keep forcing them to read and write and do math, they'll never do it on their own because it is something they enjoy. They need to explore afterschool activities and sports. I remember when I was a kid (middle school) I was too busy with homework and reports that I actually had to give up some of my extra curriculars. That's not right.

hi thankyou for your messages when you are in school, i personally think its to much for a child, tennager to have homework aswell for to many different subjects, the only time they do need to work a little extra is when exams are due, as homework is never going to stop i think teachers should all agree on a pecific day to give one homework for one topic that is it a day. rather than bring loads of different home work each day for different topic's in one day what do you think?
maybe parents could suggest this to schools or do a poll about it, it could make alot more children's life abit more easier.

That would be one way to do it .... Like Science on Monday, Math Tuesday, Etc. That way they are still getting something supplemental but they're not overloaded. I still think that studying for exams is not optional - kids still need to do that. its just not fair that some of even the youngest kids have hours and hours of homework everynight. Not to mention the back problems they will develop having to carry home all thos books everynight.
