ive loads of fish in the house and the pond,my cats never bother them

I read a cute story once that cats were kept on ships to protect cargo from rodents, as a reward for their work they would be fed fish and that is how the love of fish came to felines. Not sure if it's true but it may have some validity to it since most cats I know go crazy over a can of tuna or any fish based canned food.
