Dislocated Left Shoulder, Shall i undergo Surgery?

I dislocate my left shoulder and was brought to a hospital to bring it back to it's normal position, good thing when X-ray went out no bone was broken. This is the 8'th time my shoulder was dislocated, the other times went back by itself to normal position and yesterday was the worst. The doctor advise me to see an orthopedic and schedule an appointment for a surgery. If you were in my position would you take and schedule the shoulder surgery or just continue life and take extra careful next time?
