What is the best amateur digital camera?

I have Panasonic LZ2 but I think Canon are the best.

Picture perfect! - Picture perfect!
Ya Canon has some good cameras. We have a Canon A610 with 5x zoom and pictures come out great. This is one picture we took while on vacation.

I use nothing but Cannon Camera's. I'm so bad I have a tee shirt that says "We are Cannon...Resistance if futile". lol You just can't beat a cannon or the support from the company.

Yes, they have good cameras, too. Especially the semi-pro models.
