Singing along with the music in a store.

I find myself singing along with the music that is playing in the stores while I shop. I enjoy singing. It brings me joy. Sometimes I feel as if I am the only one that sings along with the music. The only time I have heard another person singing to the music while shopping is at Christmas. Why not sing all year?

At any given time there is a song in my head. I am always singing. Even when I hear muzak, I'll sing the words to the instrumental. My husband and I will be just sitting on the couch and he'll say what are you singing? I sing to my son even though I can't carry a tune in a bucket. I think all my singing has helped him like music because he started dancing, you know bouncing up and down at 4 months.

My friend and I do that. And if there's no music, we still sing. We once ended up inadvertently giving a sudden Beatles cover concert to a deli worker! We were just talking about their music and we kind of burst into a rendition of 'Help' and moved on to 'Hide Your Love Away' and 'Yellow Submarine'. By the time we were done we had both deli workers and a couple of stock boys listening to us. We got a round of applause when we were done!

That is wonderful! ^_^ I find myself humming along sometimes when I am in stores, but I am probably too shy to do so if other people are nearby. I would probably sing along out loud if I thought that no one was within hearing distance. I love it when I hear a song that I know and love when I'm out shopping. I think that it would be lovely if everyone sang when they were shopping, lol! It would certainly make my day. I love it when I hang around theatre people because they are always singing. It sounds so joyful. I love music! ^_^

my bf and i was at Carrefour grocery shopping yesterday evening...and they were playing all those sentimental songs that i love 'Sometimes when we touch, total eclipse of the heart, etc..' and i cant help but to sing along...my bf joined me in some of the song....i guess i did it without even realising it and not caring whether other people look at me in a funny way or not.

Well, I don't serenade anyone. ha ha But when I hear a song that I like, I do find myself singing enough to make me happy. I like the songs they play at Toys R Us. LOL
Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie 'em in a knot, can you tell 'em in bow.... :)

If I like the song I cannot resist the urge to sing along whether it be at the grocery store, the rec centre or McDonald's. One time when we were visiting McDonald's we noticed a little boy dancing to the music. He was really good and we couldn't stop watching him. I spoke to his mother on the way out. She said he was embarrassing to her. I told her not to be that he was entertaining everyone in the restaurant. LOL!

I will catch myself singing in the store. Heck if the baby is fussy I will sing to her. I love to sing & really don't care who can hear me. That does not mean I belt it out like I am on stage though lol.

Aww thanks Crystal... you just brought back a nice memory for me! I always sang to my kids, day and night, sometimes to soothe them, sometimes to soothe ME lol and sometimes for no reason at all.
But the thing I remembered was about my mom. When my girls were old enough to walk, she would take them for walks around her block. They would sing songs and the girls would ask Grandma to skip with them. Well, my mom would hold their hands and skip and twirl and laugh and sing... anything her granddaughters wanted, without a care in the world. Some of the neighbors used to laugh when they'd see them go by. My mom just waved and kept going.
She rocked that way ;)

So many times I feel like singing along with the music I hear while I am shopping!!! But my singing voice is so bad, I am too embarrassed, so I just sing softly to myself or hum along.

Yes, I sing inthe store, I sing in the car, I wake up sometimes singing music that I have been working on with choir. Being a former preschool teacher, I sing what ever I am doing to whatever tune it fits. It has been three years now since I worked in a preschool, but I still do this. I harmonize, I boogey and bop,and when I am tired enough and silly enough, I break out into extreme gliding dances. I sing to the cats--"The cats go in, the cats go out, op[en the door or they will pout" . . . You get the picture.

YES I DO THIS! not only do i sing, i sing BADLY. and that's to the songs that i just know and don't necessarily like. if i like the song, expect me to bring out a little bit of grooving too. if i love the song...clear the aisle, it's dancing time! i wonder if this is why my wife doesn't like to shop with me.

I sing along in the store too... although, you're right, more often to the Christmas music. I guess that's because I don't always recognize the muzak during the rest of the year lol But, I guess I sing or hum louder than I thought because I've had people smile and see, "Gee, you're in a good mood today!" Why not be that way? It's what I strive for! :)
