What type of internet service provider do you all have?

I had cable internet for over 5 years, then I got a call from the phone company. Verizon (phone company) offered me DSL internet service at the same speed I had for $20 less a month, I took up the offer. Since switching pages take longer to load than with cable and many sites I can no longer visit. Does anyone else experience the same problems? I am thinking about switching back to cable, what do you think cable or dsl?

No
I think DSL is great.
You can use phone & internet simultaneously.
low cost.
But as your stated problem I think there must be some problem with your phone line OR the place provides the DSL might be lot away from your place.
You can do one thing for checking speed.
Go to command prompt on your pc.(C:\,)
USE this command
ping (Companies IP)
then press Enter
This will show you the speed at right side .It will say (TTL = the speed what you are getting).
If this speed is less than committed by company you can tell them & get the problem solved.
Happy earnings!

Even I am using cable internet. The name of the provider is YouTele. It's very cheap and the quality they provide is also very good. They have a great customer service. They also provide referral programs where you can earn free browsing hours for every valid referral..

I use cable here and although I've never used DSL, some of my friends have it and they complain about how slow their pages load. I went straight from dial up to cable, and now I think I'm so spoiled, I could never take a step back to dial up or dsl. :-)

Check to see if there is an update with the verizon software. switching Internet Providers should not affect which sites you can view or not. And as far as speed, DSL is faster than cable. you might try deleting your history, your cookies, and doing a disk cleanup and disk defragmenter
