Do you understand your Bible? Do you read your Bible? Do you have one?

Considering that the Bible is available to more than 95% of mankind, let's see who has one, reads it, and understands it. Explain in your words what the Bible is about.

THe bible is a record of the creation of mankind, the fall of satan, the promises of God. The bible was recorded by men who were moved upon by the spirit of God and wrote an account of those communications with God. The bible is also about how to live an abundant life, what God desires for each of us, it is also the account of an amazing God that robed himself in flesh, and shed His blood that we might have salvation and eternal life. The principles set forth in the bible are the very core of the foundation that our great country is founded upon. It's amazing, it the living word - the more you read it the more understanding and enlightment you can gleam from it.

I would have to agree with you oohcute. The Bible is all you say and so much, much, much more.
The Bible is primarily God's revelation of Himself to man, with His final revelation of Himself being the Lord Jesus Christ, so that nothing more is needed.

I have quite a few Bibles...my grandparents passed away so I have almost all of the ones they had...old ones, new ones, different versions...I treasure them all.
I don't read it as often as I should but when I do I always get something out of it. I grew up in a Christian school and going to church so I learned all the stories but it's only been within the last several years that it's been REALLY coming alive for me. I am constantly learning. I like New English Versions and especially like "The Message"...it's really easy to understand and relate to.

I am a servant of God. I am a translator of the Word of God from Greek to English. I have already published THE WILL New Testament (Greek to English), GENESIS & EXODUS (Greek to English), ELEMENTS of SALVATION, The Right Way, GOD, ORIGIN, TRANSFER into PERFECTION, and some other books which I hope could help people to understand the Word of God.
I hope that you consider these books in studying the Word of God. I have also published GREEK-ENGLISH (Grammar & Vocabulary), and WORDS in THE WILL New Testament to help those who are really studying the Word of God sincerely.

The Bible is a history of Creation, a history of God's chosen people including the lineage. The Bible is a covenant between God and his people and his promise for the future.
Are you a Jehovah's Witness?

In the beginning God created heaven and earth. In the six days of creation, God created everything including man very good. God wants man to be with Him but man corrupted and so man is separated from God. For man to be able to go back to God, God sent His only begotten Son to take away the sin of the world. The Lord Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except thru Me.
Those who obey the Son will live with God in heaven forever. The testament of the Son is the New Testament where the elements of salvation and the right way are laid out.
In short, salvation is the ultimate goal of God for men and to be saved, we should come into a full knowledge of the truth as stated in 1 Timothy 2:4 - God wills all men to be saved and to come into a full knowledge of the truth.

Thanks for your response. It's nice to meet a translator. Can I ask where it says that we'll go to heaven? Like you said, God created heaven and earth, and earth for man to live on and subject it and enjoy it. Also how can they be literally days of creation as we know them of 24 hours? Just curious how you reason to that point. Thanks.

I have a Bible. I have read it all the way through from beginning to end. I believe that the Bible is God's word to us. It is about His love for mankind. It is about how sin came into our world, why He lets it continue and how He will overcome sin. It is about the controversy between good and evil. It helps me see that others struggled with the same things I struggle with and how God helped them and I know that He will help me.

I have a bible I read every now and then. What I usually do is pick verses and learn them by heart. I try to follow the lessons I learned from the Bible. What is a Bible? It is the word of God.

I have over 40 different translations of the Bible in print and several more on my computer.
I read thematically, that is I choose a theme and study that rather than simply starting in Genesis and reading to Revelations.
The Bible is a record of the growing understanding of God among the Israelites, as you progress from the Earliest writings, such a Job to the later writings such as Isaiah a progressively more complex picture of God and God's place in humn life develops.
