Roatan an island paradise

Roatan is an island located 45 miles off the coast of honduras. Approximately 45 miles long and 2 1/2 miles wide. it is a mountainous island with lush tropical forest. It's claim to fame at this point is it's diving. Roatan is on part of the second longest reef in the world. It is fast becoming developed. Developers from Florida and California are buying up the island and building resort communities everywhere. Have you ever heard of it? Should the government allow this to happen? Is there anyway to stop it?
