I was a big fan of Rita Mae Brown, though not so much anymore. I still like Grahme Green feel he has such a wonderful insight on human nature.
Who keeps you thinking long after the book is done?

The most potent and profound author is David Pelzer, he's the guy who suffered emotional and physical abuse at the hands of his mother and how he pulled through. He wrote about his experiences in A boy called It and through his self help books. I've read them and they've been such a help and a benefit to me. I've actually changed the way I thought, dealt with others through the book and my problems pale in insignificance compared to what he's been through. I've also buried a grudge with someone because of his words. Powerful books and powerful influence.

Ian McEwan and Alice Munro. McEwan's moral fables just make you think about your life and Munro's dissections of seemingly simple but otherwise disgruntled lives are quietly meditative.

Paulo Coelho. His book 'The Alchemist' is the one of the best I've read so far. Made me look into myself, analyse my dreams and what I want to see myself doing years from now...Written in a very simple manner yet concerns the most complex things..and here's one line that has been in my head ever since I read it..
"When you really want something, the whole universe conspries in helping you achieve it"

Have you ever read books by J.Krishnamurthy? Any serious readre (other than just pass time by reading) should atleast once go through his writing. Human Nature - I dont think anyone else shown us - what a human being is. There are planty of books about his thoughts available, just start with one, and I am sure a serious reader will come back to him agian and again to be in his company.
