why do people smoke?

I have tried it couple of times, but i really never found anything special in it, nor did i find any reason why i should continue it. Actually is there any kind of taste in it? Or is it a special feeling to stand in front of a crowd or with yr friends and smoke? Whats so good about it?

I smoke because of my nerves, and because I have some stress in my life and I think it looks glamorous

I don't like to smoke I quit 25 yrs. ago. it stinks I can't stand the smell it gets all in your clothes.

some people use to do so inorder to clear their mental tensions.
some of them to enjoy.
some for prestige..
